Fuel Tank Replacement
- Relieve the fuel pressure (see FUEL PRESSURE RELIEVING ).
- Drain the fuel tank (see FUEL PRESSURE TEST ).
- Raise the vehicle on a lift.
- Disconnect the fuel pump subharness 4P connector (A).
- Disconnect the fuel line quick-connect fitting (A).
- Disconnect the fuel vapor hoses (A), and the filler neck hose and clamp (B), then gently twist the hoses as you pull to avoid damaging them.
- Place a jack or other support under the fuel tank (A).
- Remove the strap bolts (B).
- Remove the fuel tank. If it sticks to the undercoated mounts, carefully, pry it off the mounts.
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.NOTE: New fuel tanks have a ring pull (A) at the fuel vapor hose connector (B). When you connect the hose and confirm that the connection is secure, remove the ring pull by pulling it down.
