Injector Replacement
- Relieve the fuel pressure (see FUEL PRESSURE RELIEVING ).
- Remove the intake manifold (see REMOVAL ).
- Disconnect the quick-connect fitting (A).
- Remove the fuel joint hose mounting nut or bolt (B).
- Disconnect the connectors (C) from the injectors.
- Remove the fuel rail mounting bolts (D) from the fuel rails (E).
- Remove the fuel rail and the injectors from the injector base.
- Remove the injector clips (F) from the fuel rails.
- Remove the injectors from the fuel rails.
- Coat the new O-rings (A) with clean engine oil, and insert the injectors (B) into the fuel rails (C).

- Install the injector clips (D).
- Coat the new injector O-rings (E) with clean engine oil.
- Install the injectors in the injector base.
- Install the fuel rail mounting bolts, and connect the connectors on the injectors.
- Install the fuel joint hose mounting nut or bolt.
- Connect the quick-connect fitting (see FUEL LINE/QUICK-CONNECT FITTING INSTALLATION ).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), but do not operate the starter. After the fuel pump runs about 2 seconds, the fuel pressure in the fuel line rises. Repeat this two or three times, then check for fuel leakage.
- Install the intake manifold with a new gasket (see INSTALLATION ).
