Malfunction Threshold

A malfunction is detected if these three conditions are not present after the engine and the ignition switch have been off for at least 6 hours before restarting the engine.

• The temperature difference (IAT minus ECT1) is 84 °F (28 °C) or more.
• The temperature difference (IAT minus ECT2) is 54 °F (12 °C) or more.
• The temperature difference (ECT2 minus ECT1) is 95 °F (35 °C) or more.
