Fuel Tank Replacement

  1. Drain the fuel tank (see FUEL TANK DRAINING  ).
  2. Jack up the vehicle, and support it with jackstands.
  3. Remove the exhaust pipe (see EXHAUST PIPE AND MUFFLER REPLACEMENT ).
  4. Remove the propeller shaft (see PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL ), and support it with jackstands.
  5. Remove the fuel tank protector (A).

  6. Loosen the clamp (B), and disconnect the tube (C).
  7. Open the clamp (D).
  8. Disconnect the hoses (E). Slide back the clamps, then twist the hoses as you pull to avoid damaging them.
  9. Place a jack or other support under the tank (F).
  10. Remove the strap bolts and the straps (G).
  11. Remove the fuel tank.
  12. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
