Ignition Switch Test

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ), and precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or servicing.

  1. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure, (see 12 VOLT BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION )
  2. Remove the steering column covers (see GLOVE BOX STRIKER REPLACEMENT ).
  3. Disconnect the 7P connector (A) from the ignition switch (B).

  4. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.

  5. If the continuity is not as specified, replace the ignition switch (see IGNITION SWITCH REPLACEMENT  ).
  6. Do the 12 volt battery terminal reconnection procedure, (see 12 VOLT BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION )
