Oil Pan Removal
- If the engine is already out of the vehicle, go to step 7.
- Drain the engine oil (see ENGINE OIL LEVEL CHECK ).
- Remove the drive belt (see DRIVE BELT INSPECTION ).
- Remove the driveshaft heat shield (see step 28 on ENGINE REMOVAL ).
- Remove the A/C compressor without disconnecting the A/C hoses (see step 31 on ENGINE REMOVAL ).
- A/T model: Remove the shift cable cover.
- M/T model: Remove the torque rod bracket (see TORQUE ROD BRACKET REPLACEMENT ).
- Remove the dipstick, then remove the dipstick tube.
- Remove the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor cover (A), then disconnect the CKP sensor connector (B).
- Remove the clutch cover/torque converter cover (A), and transmission mounting bolts (B).
M/T model

A/T model
- Remove the oil pan bolts. Note the bolt locations by their size.
- Using a flat blade screwdriver, separate the oil pan from the block in the places shown.
- Remove the oil pan.
