Park Pin Switch Test

  1. Remove the center console (see CENTER CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  2. Disconnect the park pin switch 2P connector (A).

  3. Check for continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 2.
    • There should be continuity when the shift lever button is pressed or the shift lever is moved out of P.
    • There should be no continuity when the shift lever is moved to P and the shift lever button is released.
  4. If the continuity is not as specified, check the shift cable adjustment (see SHIFT CABLE ADJUSTMENT ). If the cable adjustment is OK, go to step 5. If the park pin switch fails the test, replace the park pin switch (see PARK PIN SWITCH REPLACEMENT ).
  5. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal (see CENTER CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
