Power Mirror Control Unit Input Test/Replacement
NOTE:
Before testing, troubleshoot the multiplex integrated control system first, using B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A (see
TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A
).
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Remove the driver's door panel (see FRONT DOOR PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Disconnect the 24P connector (A) from the power mirror control unit (B).
- Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
- If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
- If the terminals look OK, go to step 5.
- Reconnect the connector to the power mirror control unit, and do the following input tests:
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 6.

15 BLK In all ignition switch positions Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.2 V. - Poor ground (G401)
- An open or high resistance in the ground wire

- An open or high resistance in the wire
6 YEL Move left or right mirrors Measure the voltage to ground: There should be about 5 V. - Faulty mirror position sensor
- A short to ground in the wire

- An open or high resistance in the wire
- A short to ground in the wire
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Disconnect the connectors from the power mirror control unit, and do the following input tests.
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, the power mirror control unit must be faulty; replace it.
