Rear Power Window Motor Test

  1. Remove the rear door panel (see FRONT DOOR SIDE SILL SEAL REPLACEMENT ), and disconnect the rear door wire harness 8P connector (A) from the rear door subharness.

  2. At the rear door wire harness 8P connector, test the power window motor in each direction by connecting battery power and ground according to the table. When the motor stops running, disconnect one lead immediately.
    Terminal 4 8
    Direction
    UP (-) (+)
    DOWN (+) (-)
  3. If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, go to step 4.
  4. Disconnect the 2P connector (A) from the rear power window motor (B).

  5. Check for continuity between rear power window motor 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2 and the door wire harness 8P connector terminals No. 4 and No. 8 respectively. There should be continuity.

  6. If there is no continuity, repair an open or high resistance in the wires. If the wire harness is OK, replace the power window motor.
