Removal and Installation: Engine: Installation

NOTE: How to read the torque specifications .

  1. Torque Rod Bracket - Install
  2. Universal Lifting Eyelet - Install

    1. Install the universal lifting eyelet with a commercially available spacer (A).
  3. Engine/Transmission Assembly - Position
    1. Position the engine/transmission assembly under the vehicle, and be sure that they are properly positioned. Carefully lower the vehicle, and stop with the installation position of the engine/transmission assembly.
  4. Chain Hoist - Install

    1. Attach the chain hoist (A) to the universal lifting eyelet and the transmission hanger (B), then lift the engine/transmission until it is securely supported by the chain hoist.

  5. Transmission Mount Bracket Mounting Bolt and Nut - Loosely Install
  6. Engine - Support
    1. Lift and support the engine with a jack and a wood block under the oil pan.
  7. Chain Hoist and Universal Lifting Eyelet - Remove
  8. Side Engine Mount - Loosely Install
  9. Vehicle - Lift
    1. Raise the vehicle.
  10. Front Subframe - Support

    1. Set the subframe adapter on a transmission jack (A), line up the slots in the arms with the bolt holes on the corner of the jack base, and tighten the bolts.

    2. Attach the subframe adapter to the front subframe (B).

  11. Front Subframe - Install
  12. Front Subframe Rear Stay - Install

    1. Install the muffler mount (A).

    2. Install the front subframe rear stay (B)

    .

  13. Torque Rod - Loosely Install
  14. Vehicle - Lift
    1. Lower the vehicle.
  15. All Engine Mount Mounting Bolt and Nut - Tighten
  16. EPS Motor/Control Unit Connector - Connect
  17. Transmission Ground Cable - Connect
  18. ATF Cooler Hose - Connect
  19. Electric A/C Compressor - Install
  20. Vehicle - Lift
    1. Lower the vehicle.
  21. Steering Joint - Connect
  22. Electric VTC Motor - Install 
  23. Radiator - Install
  24. Heater Hose - Connect

  25. Fuel Feed Hose and EVAP Canister Purge Hose - Connect

    1. Connect the fuel feed hose (A), then install the quick-connect fitting cover (B)

    2. Install the hose clamp (C).

    3. Connect the EVAP canister purge hose (D).

    4. Install the hose clamp (E).

  26. Connector (Engine Room Harness)- Connect

    1. Connect the connectors (A).

    2. Install the harness clamp (B).

  27. Vehicle - Lift
    1. Raise the vehicle.
  28. Under-Floor TWC - Install
  29. Front Driveshaft - Install
  30. Tie-Rod End Ball Joint - Connect
  31. Front Stabilizer Link Ball Joint - Connect
  32. Lower Arm Ball Joint - Connect
  33. Front Inner Fender - Install
  34. Front Motor Undercover - Install
  35. Motor Undercover - Install
  36. Front Wheel - Install
  37. Vehicle - Lift
    1. Lower the vehicle.
  38. PCU - Install
  39. Cowl Cover - Install
  40. Front Grille Cover - Install
  41. Air Cleaner - Install
  42. 12 Volt Battery Terminal - Connect
  43. Service Plug - Turn ON
  44. Transmission Fluid - Refill
  45. Engine Oil - Refill
  46. Engine Coolant - Refill
  47. Fuel Leak - Check
    1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, but do not start the engine. After the fuel pump runs for about 2 seconds, the fuel line will be pressurized. Repeat this two or three time, then check for fuel leakage.
  48. Fluid Leak - Check
  49. PCM - Reset
  50. CKP Pattern - Clear/Learn
  51. Idle Speed - Inspect
  52. Ignition Timing - Inspect
  53. Wheel Alignment - Check
  54. VSA Sensor Neutral Position - Memorize
