Engine Removal and Installation: Installation
- Accessory Bracket - Install
1. If the alternator bracket is removed, install the alternator bracket. 2. If the A/C compressor bracket is removed, install the A/C compressor bracket
3. If the torque rod bracket is removed, install the torque rod bracket .NOTE: Always use new bolts. (2WD)
- Universal Lifting Eyelet - Install
- Engine - Install
1. Attach the chain hoist (A) to the universal lifting eyelet (B) and the transmission hanger (C), then lift the engine/transmission until it is securely supported by the chain hoist. 2. Position the engine/transmission under the vehicle. Be sure that they are properly aligned. Carefully lower the vehicle until the engine/transmission are properly positioned in the engine compartment. Make sure the vehicle is not resting on any part of the engine/transmission. Support the engine/transmission with the chain hoist and carefully raise the engine/transmission into place.
- Transmission Mount Bracket Mounting Bolt and Nut - Loosely Install
NOTE: Always use new bolts and new nuts.
- Engine - Support
1. Lift and support the engine with a jack and a wood block under the oil pan. - Chain Hoist and Universal Lifting Eyelet - Remove
- Side Engine Mount - Loosely Install
NOTE:
- Always use new bolts and new nuts.
- Connect the ground cable at the same time.
- Vehicle - Lift
1. Raise the vehicle. - Front Subframe - Support
1. Support the front subframe with a transmission jack. - Front Subframe - Install
- Torque Rod - Loosely Install
NOTE: Always use new bolts.
- Vehicle - Lift
1. Lower the vehicle. - All Engine Mount Mounting Bolt and Nut - Tighten
- Vehicle - Lift
1. Raise the vehicle. - A/C Compressor - Install
NOTE: Connect the connector at the same time.
- Propeller Shaft - Install (AWD)
- Front Driveshaft - Install
- Tie-Rod End Ball Joint - Connect
- Lower Arm Ball Joint - Connect
- Front Stabilizer Link Ball Joint - Connect
- Exhaust Pipe A - Install
- Drive Belt - Install
- A/C Pipe Clamp Bolt - Install
- Radiator - Install
- Front Splash Shield and Engine Undercover (With Engine Undercover) - Install
- Front Wheel - Install
- Vehicle - Lift
1. Lower the vehicle. - Steering Joint - Connect
- Heater Hose - Connect
1. Connect the heater hoses (A). - Slave Cylinder - Install (M/T)
- Change Wire Bracket - Install (M/T)
- Shift Cable (Transmission Side) - Connect (CVT)
- Fuel Feed Hose (Fuel Rail Side) - Connect
- Connector (Engine Wire Harness) - Connect
1. Connect the connectors (A). 2. Install the harness holder clamp (B) and the harness clamps (C).
- Connector (PCM) - Connect
- EVAP Canister Purge Hose and Brake Booster Vacuum Hose - Connect
1. Connect the EVAP canister purge hose (A) and the brake booster vacuum hose (B). - Intake Air Resonator - Install
- Intake Air Duct - Install
- Air Cleaner and Air Intake Duct - Install
- Front Grille Cover - Install
- 12 Volt Battery - Install
NOTE: Do not connect the 12 Volt battery negative terminal in this step.
- Positive Cable (12 Volt Battery Terminal Fuse Box) - Connect
1. Connect the positive cables. 2. Install the cover.
- 12 Volt Battery Terminal - Connect
- Fuel Leak - Inspect
1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, but do not operate the starter. After the fuel pump runs for about 2 seconds, the fuel rail will be pressurized. Repeat this two or three times, then check for fuel leakage. - Engine Oil - Refill
- Transmission Fluid - Refill
1. Refill the transmission fluid: - Engine Coolant - Refill/Air Bleed
- Transmission Gear - Check
1. M/T: Check that the transmission shifts into all gears smoothly. 2. CVT: Move the shift lever to each gear, and verify that the A/T gear position indicator follows the transmission range switch.
- PCM - Reset
- CKP Pattern - Clear/Learn
- Idle Speed - Inspect
- Ignition Timing - Inspect
- Wheel Alignment - Check
- VSA Sensor Neutral Position - Memorization
