DTC P00FE: General Description
The powertrain control module (PCM) detects a blockage on the vent line by two phases:
- Phase 1
The fuel vapor containment valve is opened for a short time, and the VENT blockage is determined by the change in the tank internal pressure. If there is a pressure change in the tank, the PCM determines as normal. If there is no pressure change, there is a possibility that the VENT blockage failure or the pressure in the tank is not applied, the detection moves to phase 2.
- Phase 2
If abnormality is found in phase 1, The PCM detects a blockage of vent line by estimating the volume of space in the evaporative emission (EVAP) system. Phase 2 is performed after the vehicle has stopped for a period of time, If the volume of space is large, the EVAP leak check module is closed and decompressed by purge. If the volume of space is small, the PCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.
