The shift by wire (SBW) shifter control module in the SBW shifter assembly detects the parking position by the output voltage from the park position sensor. The SBW shifter control module monitors the park position sensor 2 output voltage. When the output voltage is a specified value or more for a specified duration, the powertrain control module (PCM) receives malfunction information from the SBW shifter control module and stores a DTC.
