The shift by wire (SBW) shifter control module in the SBW shifter assembly detects the parking position by the output voltage from the park position sensor. The SBW shifter control module monitors the total value of the park position sensor 1 output voltage and the park position sensor 2 output voltage. When the total voltage is out of a specified range for a specified duration, the powertrain control module (PCM) receives malfunction information from the SBW shifter control module and stores a DTC.
