The park pawl actuator driver unit controls the park pawl actuator to switch to or unlock the P position. There is a control program in the park pawl actuator driver unit to check if the control program is normally written at activation. If the abnormality in the control program is detected, the powertrain control module (PCM) receives a malfunction from the park pawl actuator driver unit and stores a DTC.
