DTC P171A: General Description
The park pawl actuator driver unit controls the park pawl actuator to switch to and unlock the P position by the command from the powertrain control module (PCM). If the position sensor in the park pawl actuator driver unit detects a change to the P position by a factor of such as applying external force to the transmission, while the switch/unlock command to the P position is not being transmitted to the park pawl actuator driver unit from the PCM, the PCM receives a malfunction from the park pawl actuator driver unit and stores a DTC.
