The park pawl actuator driver unit controls the park pawl actuator to switch to and unlock the P position by the command from the powertrain control module (PCM). When the switch/unlock action to the P position is completed, the P position detected by the park pawl actuator driver unit and the P position detected by the park position sensor transmitted from the PCM are compared, and if the information of the P position differs, the PCM receives malfunction from the park pawl actuator driver unit and stores a DTC.
