DTC P0341
DTC P0341 : CMP Sensor A and CKP Sensor Incorrect Phase Detected
- Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .
- If the 12 volt battery voltage is higher than the nominal voltage (DC-DC converter failure), this DTC will be stored.

DTC (PGM-FI)
- Electric powertrain system DTC check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
Enter the maintenance mode, then start the engine , and let it idle under these conditions:
- Headlights on high beam
- Blower fan at maximum speed
- Rear window defogger on
- A/C switch ON, heater on, max hot
-5. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0A94 in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

Does the HDS indicate FAILED?
YES
Go to the troubleshooting for DTC P0A94 .
NO
If the HDS indicates PASSED, go to step 2. If the HDS indicates EXECUTING, keep idling until a result comes on.
- Problem verification (idling)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-3. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-4. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-5. Allow the engine to cool to 104 deg.F (40 deg.C) or less.
-6. Enter the maintenance mode, then start the engine , and let it idle.
-7. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC P0341 CMP Sensor A and CKP Sensor Incorrect Phase Detected DTC (PGM-FI)
Is DTC P0341 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 4.
NO
Go to step 3.
- Problem verification (DTC check)
-1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-4. Select the VTC TEST in the Function Test Menu with the HDS.
VTC TEST
Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC P0341 CMP Sensor A and CKP Sensor Incorrect Phase Detected DTC (PGM-FI)
Is DTC P0341 indicated?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at CMP sensor A, the CKP sensor, and the PCM. If the on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the on-board snapshot .
- Camshaft timing check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Check the camshaft timing .
Is the camshaft timing OK?
YES
Go to step 5.
NO
- Cam chain check
-1. Check for damage or stretch at the cam chain .
Is the cam chain damaged or stretched?
YES
NO
Go to step 6.
- CMP pulse plate A visual check
-1. Check for damage to CMP pulse plate A .
Is the pulse plate damaged?
YES
NO
Go to step 7.
- VTC actuator installation check
-1. Check the installation of the VTC actuator .
Is the VTC actuator installed correctly?
YES
Go to step 8.
NO
- CKP pulse plate visual check
-1. Remove the CKP sensor , and check for damage to the CKP pulse plate.
Is the pulse plate damaged?
YES
NO
Go to step 9.
- PGM-FI system check (DTC check)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-4. Allow the engine to cool to 104 deg.F (40 deg.C) or less.
-5. Enter the maintenance mode, then start the engine , and let it idle.
-6. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC P0341 CMP Sensor A and CKP Sensor Incorrect Phase Detected DTC (PGM-FI)
Is DTC P0341 indicated?
YES
Replace the electric VTC motor .
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at CMP sensor A, the CKP sensor, and the PCM. If the on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the on-board snapshot .
