DTC (Gear)
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-3. Test drive the vehicle as follows:
- Start off in D position/mode, and drive at speeds below 6 mph (10 km/h) or less for at least 2 seconds.
- Accelerate the vehicle, and drive at speeds over 25 mph (40 km/h) or more for at least 2 seconds.
- Decelerate the vehicle, and drive at speeds below 6 mph (10 km/h) or less for at least 2 seconds.
- Slow down, and stop the wheels.
-4. While depressing the brake pedal, test the electronic gear selector switches as follows:
- Shift the transmission position/mode to other than R, and wait for at least 1 minute.
- Switch position/mode back and forth between other than R and R at least 10 times.
- Shift the transmission position/mode to other than N, and wait for at least 1 minute.
- Switch position/mode back and forth between other than N and N at least 10 times.
- Shift the transmission position/mode to other than D, and wait for at least 1 minute.
- Switch position/mode back and forth between other than D and D at least 10 times.
-5. Monitor the OBD STATUS for P26C3 in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.
DTC Description OBD Status P26C3 Internal Control Module Transmission Range Sensor Performance Does the HDS indicate FAILED?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Faulty SBW shifter control module. Replace the SBW shifter assembly .
NO
If the HDS indicates PASSED, intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot. If the HDS indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to step 1
