- HDS DLC - Connect
- DTC - Check - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Fuel and Emissions Systems

1. Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 3, 000 rpm with no load (in P or N) until the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle. - Idle Speed - Check
- SCS - Short
1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode. 2. Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.
- Ignition Timing - Inspect

Ignition Timing
4. If the ignition timing differs from the specification, check the camshaft timing . If the camshaft timing is OK, check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting, or substitute a known-good PCM , then recheck. If the system works properly, and the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM .
5. Disconnect the HDS and the timing light.
