Removal and Installation

  1. Engine Coolant - Drain - Refer to:

    Coolant Replacement (2016 2017 2018)

    Coolant Replacement (2019 2020 2021)

  2. Starter - Remove (9-Speed A/T) - Refer to: or

    Starter Removal, Installation and Performance Test (6-Speed A/T) 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020)

    Starter Removal, Installation and Performance Test (9-Speed A/T)

  3. Intake Manifold - Remove - Refer to:

    Intake Manifold Removal and Installation (9-Speed A/T) (2019 2020 2021) 

    Intake Manifold Removal and Installation (6-Speed A/T), ('16-'18 9-Speed A/T) 

  4. Thermostat - Remove
  5. EGR Pipe A - Remove 
  6. EGR Valve - Remove 
  7. ECT Sensor 1 - Remove - Refer to:

    ECT Sensor 1 Removal and Installation  or

    ECT Sensor 2 Removal and Installation 

  8. High Pressure Fuel Pump Cover - Remove

  9. Upper Radiator Hose, Heater Hose, and Water Bypass Hose - Disconnect
    6-Speed A/T

    1. Disconnect the upper radiator hose (A), the heater hoses (B), and the water bypass hoses (C).
  10. Water Passage - Remove

  11. Connecting Pipe - Remove

    1. 6-Speed A/T: Disconnect the heater hose (A) and the water bypass hose (B).

    2. Remove the connecting pipe as needed.

  12. All Removed Parts - Install
    1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
