DTC P0630
DTC P0630 : VIN Not Programmed or Mismatch
NOTE:
- Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Fuel and Emissions Systems, or How to Troubleshoot the A/T System .
- This DTC is stored only when the PCM does not have the VIN information of the vehicle. Use the HDS to input the missing VIN information.

DTC (PGM-FI)
- VIN check
- 1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 2. Check the VIN with the HDS.
Does the HDS show the vehicle's VIN?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Go to step 2.
- VIN check (rewrite)
- 1. Input the correct VIN to the PCM with the HDS.
Does the HDS show COMPLETE?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Go to step 3.
- DTC check
- 1. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame P062F PCM Internal Control Module Keep Alive Memory (KAM) Error Is DTC P062F indicated?
YES
Go to the troubleshooting for DTC P062F .
NO
Go to step 4.
- PCM check
- 1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
- 2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait 5 seconds.
- 4. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame P0630 VIN Not Programmed or Mismatch DTC (PGM-FI)
Is DTC P0630 indicated?
YES
Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting or substitute a known-good PCM - Refer to: PCM Removal and Installation (19-21 9-Speed A/T), or PCM Removal and Installation (6-Speed A/T, 16-18 9-Speed A/T) .
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Fuel and Emissions Systems, or How to Troubleshoot the A/T System .
