MIL Circuit Troubleshooting: Inspection

Gauge Control Module Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Procedure
  • Do the gauge control module self-diagnostic function .

• Normal Conditions
  • MIL blinks.

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the gauge control module.

SCS Shorted Wire Inspection 

NOTICE:  

Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
  • PCM connector B (72P): disconnected
• Procedure
  • Perform the inspection according to the following chart.

    Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances.

			(Disconnected) PCM connector B (72P)  female terminals
		IG Mode	Courtesy of HONDA, U.S.A., INC.	Normal Conditions
	SCS shorted to ground inspection	OFF		There is more than 1 MΩ

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

PCM Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining PCM is the cause.

Results 

• There is a problem with the PCM.
