PCM Power and Ground Circuit Troubleshooting: Inspection

+B_VBU, IG1_FI_ECU Circuit Inspection

NOTICE:

Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

Test Procedure


		(Disconnected) PCM connector B (72P) female terminals
	IG Mode	Courtesy of HONDA, U.S.A., INC.	Normal Conditions
+B_VBU circuit inspection	OFF		12 V battery voltage [circuit type 1]
IG1_FI_ECU circuit inspection	ON		12 V battery voltage [circuit type 1]

Results

If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.
If the power supply inspection of the above table showed abnormally, do the additional Power Supply Inspection , to locate the failure.

+B_IGP Circuit Inspection

Test Procedure


		(Disconnected) PGM-FI main relay 1 socket (5P) female terminals

+B_IGP circuit inspection 1	OFF		12 V battery voltage [circuit type 1]
+B_IGP circuit inspection 2	OFF		12 V battery voltage[circuit type 1]

Results

If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.
If the power supply inspection of the above table showed abnormally, do the additional Power Supply Inspection , to locate the failure.

FI_MAIN_RLY_OUT, FI_MAIN_RLY_CL- Circuit Inspection

NOTICE:

Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

Test Procedure

Preparation
- PGM-FI main relay 1: disconnected
- PCM connector B (72P): disconnected
Procedure
- Perform the inspection according to the following chart.


		(Disconnected) PGM-FI main relay 1 socket (5P) female terminals	(Disconnected) PCM connector B (72P) female terminals

FI_MAIN_RLY_OUT open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ω
FI_MAIN_RLY_CL- open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ω
Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances.
FI_MAIN_RLY_OUT shorted to ground inspection	OFF			There is more than 1 MΩ

GND Circuit Inspection

If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining PCM is the cause.
