Idle Speed Inspection: Inspection

How to use this manual .

NOTICE:  

Before checking the idle speed, check these items:

  1. Idle Speed (No Load) - Inspect

    Preconditions 

    • Parking Brake Applied
    • HDS Connected 
    • Engine Warmed Up

      NOTE:  Warm up the engine by raising the engine speed around 3,000 rpm until the cooling fan(s) comes on.

    • Transmission P or N Position/Mode
    • Following No Load Conditions
      • Set the front wheels in the straight ahead position
      • Headlights OFF
      • Blower Fan OFF
      • Rear Window Defogger OFF
      • Air Conditioner OFF
      • Radiator Fan OFF

    Procedure/Specifications 

    • Inspect after idling kept under no load conditions for 1 minute or more.

    Specifications 

    Condition Standard Value
    At Idling Speed (No Load) 680 ± 50 rpm 

    Result 

  2. Idle Speed (High Electric Load) - Inspect

    Preconditions 

    • Parking Brake Applied
    • HDS Connected 
    • "Idle Speed (No Load) - Inspect" is completed and has tested normal.
    • Engine Warmed Up

      NOTE:  Warm up the engine by raising the engine speed around 3,000 rpm until the cooling fan(s) comes on.

    • Transmission P or N Position/Mode
    • Following High Electric Load Conditions
      • Headlights ON
      • Blower Fan ON High
      • Rear Window Defogger ON
      • Air Conditioner ON
      • Air Conditioner Temperature MAX Cool
      • Radiator Fan ON

    Procedure/Specifications 

    • Inspect after idling kept under high electric load conditions for 1 minute or more.

    Specifications 

    Condition Standard Value
    At Idle Speed (High Electric Load) 680 ± 50 rpm
