Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor: Service and Repair

ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION (APP) SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor electrical connector.




2. Remove the accelerator pedal/APP sensor nuts.
3. Remove the accelerator pedal/APP sensor from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the accelerator pedal/APP sensor over the studs.
2. Install the accelerator pedal/APP sensor nuts.

Tighten the nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).


NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




3. Connect the APP sensor electrical connector.
4. Inspect below the pedal for binding, to ensure full range of motion.
