Scan Tool Data Definitions

The Scan Tool Data Definitions contains a brief description of all Cruise Control related parameters available on the scan tool. The list is in alphabetical order. A parameter may appear more than once or in more than one data list in order to group certain related parameters together.

Cruise Control Active:  The scan tool displays Yes or No. The scan tool displays Yes when the PCM determines that the cruise control has been requested and the criteria for activation has been met.

Cruise Inhibit Signal Command:  The scan tool displays On or Off. When the criteria for activating the cruise control has not been met, the PCM will inhibit cruise control operation and the scan tool displays On.

Stoplamp Pedal Switch:  The scan tool displays Applied or Released. When the brake pedal is depressed, the scan tool displays Applied and the stoplamp switch is Closed.

Vehicle Speed Sensor:  The scan tool displays km/h or mph. The PCM monitors the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) signal circuit. The PCM converts the VSS signal into km/h or mph.
