Removal Procedure

  1. Using a scan tool, retrieve the percentage of remaining engine oil. Record the remaining engine oil life.

  2. Disengage the connector position assurance (CPA) retainers.
  3. Disconnect the engine wiring harness PCM connectors from the PCM.

  4. Disengage the CPA retainer.
  5. Disconnect the body wiring harness PCM connector from the PCM.
    6. NOTE: Do not touch the connector pins or soldered components on the circuit board in order to prevent possible electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage to the PCM.

  6. Disengage the PCM bracket mounting tabs, while removing the PCM (1).
