Removal Procedure

    Fig 1: Identifying Battery Cables

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Open the protective cover to access the positive battery cable terminal.
  3. Loosen the positive battery cable nut.
  4. Remove the positive battery cable (2) from the battery.

  6. Remove the generator battery control module clip (1) from the upper battery box.

  8. Remove the engine wiring harness clip (2) from the upper battery box.

  10. Disconnect the battery vent duct from the upper battery box (1).

  12. Press the locking tabs (1) inward in order to remove the upper battery box (2) from the lower battery box.

  14. Disengage the battery strap pin (2) from the battery tray bracket stopper.

  16. Remove the battery retainer nut (1).
  17. Remove the battery tray strap (2).
  18. Remove the battery retainer (3).

  20. Remove the battery from the lower battery box.
