Scan Tool Data Definitions

Use the scan tool data display values and definitions information in order to assist in diagnosing vehicle malfunctions. Compare the vehicles actual scan tool data with the typical data display value table information. Use the information in order to aid in understanding the nature of the concern when the vehicle data does not match the typical data display values.

The scan tool data values were taken from a known good vehicle under the following conditions:

Accy. Relay Command

The scan tool displays the commanded state of the RAP relay. The scan tool displays ON when the BCM provides ground to the RAP relay control circuit.

Battery Voltage Signal

This parameter displays the amount of battery voltage available to the body control module (BCM).

Calibration ID

This parameter displays the identification number of the calibrations in the BCM.

Crank Voltage

This parameter displays the voltage read by BCM, through Ignition Off/Run/Crank signal. For the values expected refer to Power Mode Mismatch .

Driver Door Ajar Sw.

This parameter displays the status of the door.

End Model Part Number

This parameter displays the part number of the BCM.

Ignition Accessory

The BCM uses this data in order to determine the position of the ignition switch. Active is displayed when the ignition switch is in the Run or Accy positions.

Ignition 1 Run/Crank

The BCM uses this data in order to determine the position of the ignition switch. Active is displayed when the ignition switch is in the Run or Crank positions.

Ignition 3

The scan tool displays the state of the Ignition 3 output.

Ign. Off/Run/Crank

The BCM uses this data in order to determine the position of the ignition switch. Active is displayed when the ignition switch is in the Off, Run or Crank positions.

Julian Date of Build

The day of the year that the BCM was built.

Passenger Door Ajar Sw.

This parameter displays the status of the door.

Software Part Number

This parameter displays the part number of the software that is in the BCM.

Year Module Built

The year that the BCM was built.
