Removal Procedure

    WARNING: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.
  1. Raise the vehicle.
  2. Fig 1: Identifying O2 Sensor & Components

  3. Disconnect the connector (1) for the HO2S.
  4. CAUTION: The oxygen sensor may be difficult to remove when the engine temperature is below 48°C (120°F). Excessive force may damage threads in the exhaust manifold or the exhaust pipe.
  5. Remove the HO2S (2) using a J 39194-B  .
