Installation Procedure

  1. Position the cooler inlet and outlet pipes/hoses to the vehicle.

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Using a new O-ring seal, connect the power steering cooler inlet pipe/hose fitting to the power steering gear.

    Tighten:  Tighten the power steering cooler inlet pipe fitting to 28 N.m (20 lb ft).

  5. Compress the clamp (1) and install the power steering cooler outlet pipe/hose (2) to the power steering pump.

  7. Position the power steering cooler to the radiator support, install the spacer and the mounting bolt (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the power steering cooler mounting bolt to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  9. Position the radiator support bracket to the original position and install the lower mounting bolt (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the upper (1) and lower (2) radiator mounting bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  11. Using a new O-ring seals, connect the power steering cooler inlet and outlet cooler pipes/hoses to the power steering cooler.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fittings to 28 N.m (20 lb ft).

  12. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  13. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  14. Close the hood.
