Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Removing/Installing Fuel Fill Pipe

  1. Remove the cap from the fuel tank.
  2. Install the fuel fill pipe bracket to the studs on the fender.
  3. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  4. Install the fuel fill pipe nuts and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the fuel fill hose to the fuel tank. Align the orientation notch (2) on the fuel fill hose to the tab (4) on the fuel tank.
  7. Tighten the fuel fill hose clamp and tighten to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).
  8. Connect the fuel tank vent line (5) to the fuel fill pipe vent line (1). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  10. Connect the fuel fill pipe vent line quick connect (1) to the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  12. Install the bolt securing the fuel fill hose ground strap to the frame and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  13. Install the left rear wheelhouse flare. Refer to Rear Wheel Opening Flare Replacement (Base Rear Body) or Rear Wheel Opening Flare Replacement (H3T) or Rear Wheel Opening Flare Replacement (Rear Door w/BRM and RHD) or Rear Wheel Opening Flare Replacement (Rear Body w/BRM and RHD) or Rear Wheel Opening Flare Replacement (Base Rear Door) or Rear Wheel Opening Flare Replacement (Rear Bumper w/BRM and RHD) .
  14. Install the left rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner Replacement (Pickup) or Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner Replacement (SUV) .
  15. Lower the vehicle.
  16. Refill the fuel tank.
  17. Install the fuel fill cap.
  18. Inspect for leaks.
