Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Identifying BPMV Gasket And EBCM With BPMV Assembly

  1. Install a new BPMV gasket (1) to the brake master cylinder.
    2. NOTE: Ensure the locating pin is in the master cylinder body.
  2. Install the EBCM with BPMV assembly (2) to the brake master cylinder.

  3. Loosely install the EBCM with BPMV assembly bolts (1) to properly locate the assembly before tightening the bolts.
    4. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  4. Tighten the EBCM with BPMV assembly bolts to 32 N.m (24 lb ft).

  5. Install the fluid level sensor wiring harness bracket (1).

  6. Install the fluid level sensor wiring harness bracket bolt (1) and tighten to 8 N.m (71 lb in).
  7. Install the power brake booster pump with accumulator as an assembly. Refer to Power Brake Booster Pump Replacement .
  8. Install the master cylinder reservoir. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement .
  9. Remove the brake master cylinder assembly from the CH-47830:  Holding Fixture.
  10. Install the brake master cylinder with power booster and control module assembly. Refer to Brake Master Cylinder with Power Brake Booster and Chassis Control Module Replacement (LHD) .
  11. Bleed the hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure with RPO BRM) or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure without RPO BRM) or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual with RPO BRM) or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual without RPO BRM) .
  12. Program the electronic brake and traction control module. Refer to Control Module References .
