Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the brake master cylinder with power booster and control module assembly. Refer to Brake Master Cylinder with Power Brake Booster and Chassis Control Module Replacement (LHD) .
  2. Install the CH-47830:  Holding Fixture to the master cylinder assembly.
  3. Position the CH-47830:  Holding Fixture with the master cylinder assembly in a vise.
  4. Clean any dirt and debris from the master cylinder, brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) assembly, power brake booster pump inlet hose, pump outlet pipe, and the master cylinder reservoir mounting areas.
  5. Remove the master cylinder reservoir. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement .
  6. Remove the power brake booster pump with accumulator as an assembly. Refer to Power Brake Booster Pump Replacement .

  8. Remove the fluid level sensor wiring harness bracket bolt (1).

  10. Remove the fluid level sensor wiring harness bracket (1).

  12. Remove the electronic brake control module (EBCM) with BPMV assembly bolts (1).

    NOTE: When removing the EBCM with BPMV assembly from the brake master cylinder, ensure the locating pin remains in the brake master cylinder body.
  14. Carefully remove the BPMV gasket (1) and EBCM with BPMV assembly (2) from the brake master cylinder.
  15. NOTE: Do not reuse the BPMV gasket.
  16. Discard the BPMV gasket.
