Circuit/System Testing
IMPORTANT:
It is recommended that the defective components be replaced and not the complete brake master cylinder assembly.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 and X2 harness connectors at the EBCM.
- Test for less than 1 ohm between the ground circuits listed below and ground.
- Terminal 4 X1
- Terminal 1 X2
- Terminal 32 X2
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuits listed below and ground.
- Terminal 2 X1
- Terminal 2 X2
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal and the B+ circuit fuse is open, replace the EBCM/BPMV.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the BPMV/EBCM assembly.
