Removal Procedure

WARNING: Refer to Fuel and Evaporative Emission Pipe Warning .
WARNING: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Warning .
CAUTION: Refer to Fuel and Evaporative Emission Hose/Pipe Connection Cleaning Caution .

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief (With CH 48027)  or Fuel Pressure Relief (Without CH 48027) .
  2. Disengage the quick connect fitting lock clip (1).
  3. Disconnect the fuel feed line quick connect (2). Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  4. Open the retaining clips (3, 4).
  5. Remove fuel feed line from the clips.
  6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  7. Disconnect the fuel feed line from the fuel tank. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  8. If equipped with an automatic transmission, open the retaining clips attaching the lines to the transmission.
  9. Remove the fuel feed line from the clips.

  10. If equipped with a manual transmission, open the retaining clips attaching the lines to the transmission.
  11. Remove the fuel feed line from the clips.
