Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)

NOTE: Unless stated otherwise in test procedure, perform all tests using a Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM) with a minimum 10-megohm input impedance and/or a Multi-Use Tester (09391-33002 ).
THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS) RESISTANCE TEST

Throttle Position Specification
Closed (1) 3500-6500 Ohms
Slowly Open To WOT (2) 450-550 To 4500-5500 mV
(1) On 1.5L, 1.6L and 2.0L, measure between terminals No. 1 (ground) and No. 4 (power). On 3.0L, measure between terminals No. 2 (ground) and No. 3 (power). See Fig 1 and Fig 2 .
(2) On 1.5L, 1.6L and 2.0L, measure between terminals No. 1 and 3 (output). On 3.0L, measure between terminals No. 2 and 4 (output).
