Wastegate Control Solenoid Valve

  1. Disconnect solenoid valve connector, located near air cleaner. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure voltage at solenoid connector Green/White wire. If battery voltage exists, go to step 2). If battery voltage does not exist, check and repair circuit as necessary.
  2. Disconnect ECM connector. Ground ECM connector terminal No. 21. See Fig 1 . Check for continuity between chassis ground and solenoid valve connector Blue/Green wire. If continuity exists, circuit is okay. Go to step 3). If continuity does not exist, check for open or short to ground between solenoid valve and ECM.
  3. Disconnect solenoid valve connector. Using DVOM, check resistance between solenoid valve terminals. Resistance should be approximately one megohm at 68°F (20°C). If resistance is not within specification, replace solenoid valve.
