SFI Control Relay
- Relay is located behind driver's dash panel, near ECM. Disconnect harness connector. Removal of relay may assist in testing. Apply battery voltage to terminal No. 4 (positive) and ground terminal No. 2 (negative). See Fig 1
.
- Using a DVOM, check for continuity between terminal No. 1 and terminal No. 5. Continuity should exist. Check for continuity between terminal No. 5 and terminal No. 3. Replace relay if continuity does not exist.

- Disconnect relay harness connector. Using DVOM, measure voltage between relay harness connector terminals No. 4 and 5 (White/Blue wires) and vehicle ground. If battery voltage is not present, inspect and repair circuit.
- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect ECM harness connector. Connect jumper wire between ECM harness connector terminal No. 42 (terminal No. 36 on Scoupe) and vehicle ground. See Figure
. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between relay harness connector terminal No. 2 (Black/Blue wire on Accent; Black/Green wire on Scoupe) and vehicle ground. If continuity does not exist, inspect and repair circuit as needed.
