Timer/Control Unit: Description and Operation

The electronic time and alarm control module (ETACM) operates the front wiper, the front washer, the chime bell, seat belt warning and rear window defogger. Fuse 9 supplies battery voltage to the module when the ignition is in ignition is in ON or START.
Fuse 8 supplies battery voltage to the module whenever the key is in ON.
When the rear window defogger switch is closed, the ETACM will ground the coil of the rear defogger relay. The rear defogger relay coils energize, the relay contacts close and battery voltage is applied to the rear window defogger. The rear window defogger activated.
