Bench Testing: Commutator

NOTE: For commutator specifications, see STARTER SPECIFICATIONS .

Place the armature on a pair of V-blocks, and check the runout using a dial gauge. See Fig 1 .
Check the outer diameter of the commutator. See Fig 2 .
Check the depth of the undercut between segments. See Fig 3 .
