Ignition Timing
NOTE:
Engine Control Module (ECM) may also be referred to as Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
Ignition timing is computer controlled and is not adjustable. Standard reference timing data for various engine operating conditions is stored in ECM memory. ECM may also be referred to as Powertrain Control Module (PCM). ECM controls ignition timing based on engine operating conditions (speed, load, temperature, etc.) and data stored in ECM memory. ECM controls timing through ignition coil operation. When inspecting ignition timing, ensure it is as specified. See IGNITION TIMING SPECIFICATIONS table.
