Ground Circuit Test (Accent)

Turn ignition off. Disconnect both 2-pin ignition coils harness connectors. Disconnect 81-pin ECM harness connector. Connect jumper wires between ground and ECM harness connector terminals No. 2 and 5. See Fig 1. Measure resistance between ground and ignition coil-1 harness connector terminal No. 2 and ignition coil-2 harness connector terminal No. 2. See Figure. Resistance should be one ohm or less. If resistance is not as specified, repair open or short circuit between suspect ignition coil(s) and ECM. For circuits identification, see appropriate WIRING DIAGRAM under ENGINE PERFORMANCE in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS.
