Inspection Procedures
- CHECK DTC RELATING TO CCV
- Connect a Hi-Scan (Pro) to the data link connector.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position and monitor any other DTCs.
Are any other DTCs also set?
No: Go to next
Yes: Do all repairs associated with those codes.
- CHECK CANISTER AIR-FILTER FOR CONTAMINATION
- Disassemble the Canister Air-Filter and hose from their respective positions.
- Check the Canister air-filter.
Is Canister Air-Filter contaminated with dust?
No: Go to next
Yes: Replace it.
- CHECK CCV FOR NORMAL OPERATION
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position and disconnect the hose connecting the CCV to the canister.
- Blow air into the hose and verify that air escapes normally.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position and jump a wire to chassis ground at the CCV control terminal.
- Blow air into the hose and verify that air does not escape from the port.
- Repeat this procedure 4 or 5 times to ensure CCV reliability.
Is CCV working properly?
Yes: Proceed with ECM PROBLEM PROCEDURE .
No: Replace it.
