Inspection Procedures

  1. CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS RELATING TO FTPS
    1. Connect a Hi-Scan (Pro) to the data link connector.
    2. Turn ignition switch to ON position and monitor any other DTCs.

    Are any other DTCs also set? 

    No: Go to next

    Yes: Do all repairs associated with those codes.

  2. VISUALLY CHECK FTPS FOR CONNECTOR CONDITION
    1. Thoroughly check FTPS for loose, bent, or corroded terminals.
    2. Remove FTPS from fuel tank and check FTPS.

    Is FTPS damaged or is the protector cap set? 

    No: Go to next step

    Yes: If the protector cap is set, remove the protector cap from FTPS before installing. If damaged, replace it.

  3. CHECK FTPS FOR NORMAL PARAMETERS
    1. Install the FTPS and monitor the FTPS voltage signal.
    • Specification: approximately 2.5V at idle 

    Is the voltage within specifications? 

    Yes: Proceed with ECM PROBLEM PROCEDURE  .
