Inspection Procedures
- CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS RELATING TO FTPS
- Connect a Hi-Scan (Pro) to the data link connector.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position and monitor any other DTCs.
Are any other DTCs also set?
No: Go to next
Yes: Do all repairs associated with those codes.
- VISUALLY CHECK FTPS FOR CONNECTOR CONDITION
- Thoroughly check FTPS for loose, bent, or corroded terminals.
- Remove FTPS from fuel tank and check FTPS.
Is FTPS damaged or is the protector cap set?
No: Go to next step
Yes: If the protector cap is set, remove the protector cap from FTPS before installing. If damaged, replace it.
- CHECK FTPS FOR NORMAL PARAMETERS
- Install the FTPS and monitor the FTPS voltage signal.
- Specification: approximately 2.5V at idle
Is the voltage within specifications?
Yes: Proceed with ECM PROBLEM PROCEDURE .
