Inspection Procedures
- CHECK DTC RELATING TO FTPS, PCSV, CCV, OR FLS
- Connect a Hi-Scan (Pro) to the data link connector.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position and check any other DTC.
Is any other DTC set?
No: Go to next step.
Yes: Do all repairs associated with those codes before proceeding with this procedure.
- CHECK FTPS, PCSV, CCV AND FLS FOR PROPER OPERATION
- Verify that the FTPS, PCSV, CCV and FLS operate properly.
- Also, check the PCSV and the CCV for internal contamination, damage and leakage with valves closed.
Are all the items okay?
Yes: Go to next
No: Repair or replace it.
- CHECK FUEL FILLER CAP FOR LEAK
- Check that the fuel filler cap is tightly installed, has an o-ring seal, and is in good condition.
Are cap, o-ring, and release pressures okay?
Yes: Go to next
No: Repair or replace it.
- CHECK FUEL FILLER PIPE FOR LEAK
- Check the fuel filler pipe for cracks, damage and o-ring seat deformation.
Are fuel filler pipe and O-ring okay?
Yes: Go to next
No: Repair or replace it.
- CHECK FUEL VAPOR HOSES FOR LEAK
- Thoroughly check all fuel vapor hoses and hose clamps between:
- Canister and rollover/ ORVR valves
- Canister and CCV
- Canister and PCSV
- PCSV and intake manifold
(At this point, also verify that the arrow on the PCSV is pointing towards the intake manifold. If it is not, reverse the installation).
Are vapor hoses and clamps okay?
Yes: Go to next
No: Replace all cracked/damaged hoses or loose clamps.
- CHECK PARTS RELATING TO EVAP SYSTEM FOR LEAK
- Thoroughly check for fuel gas leaks, cracks, and damages of the following items:
- Fuel filler cap/pipe
- Fuel vent valve (ORVR)
- Fuel cut valve (Rollover valve)
- FTPS/PCSV/CCV
- EVAP hoses
- Canister
Are the above items okay?
Yes: Proceed with ECM PROBLEM PROCEDURE .
No: Repair or replace it.
