Generators & Regulators: Overhaul: Disassembly

Remove the generator cover. See Fig 1 .
Disconnect the slip ring guard. See Fig 2 .

CAUTION: Cutting stator coil leads connecting to the rectifier, may damage, generator because the rectifier and stator coil leads are soldered together. See Fig 3 . DO NOT disassemble

After loosening 3 retaining bolts and remove brush holder assembly. See Fig 4 .
