Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Remove the following items;
    1. Engine cover (A) and the duct (C). (Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Air cleaner assembly (B). (Refer to REMOVAL .
    3. Battery and battery tray (D). (Refer to REPAIR PROCEDURES .
  2. Disconnect the hose (B) after removing the automatic transaxle fluid cooler hose clamp (A).

  3. Remove the wiring bracket installation bolt (A-2ea).

  4. Remove the ground line after removing the bolt (A).

  5. Disconnect the solenoid valve connector (B) and inhibitor switch connector (A).

  6. Remove the shift cable (C) after removing the nut (B) and the bolt (A-2ea).

    Tightening torque: 

    1. 17.7 ~ 24.5 N.m (1.8 ~ 2.5 kgf.m, 13.0 ~ 18.1 lb-ft)
    2. 9.8 ~ 14.7 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.5 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 10.8 lb-ft)

  7. Remove the CKP sensor (A).

  8. Remove the automatic transaxle upper mounting bolt (A, B).

    Tightening torque: 

    1. 63.7 ~ 83.4 N.m (6.5 ~ 8.5 kgf.m, 47.0 ~ 61.5 lb-ft)
    2. 32.4 ~ 49.0 N.m (3.3 ~ 5.0 kgf.m, 23.9 ~ 36.2 lb-ft)

  9. Using the SST(09200-38001), hold the engine and transaxle assembly safely.

  10. Remove the automatic transaxle mounting support bracket bolt (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    63.7 ~ 83.4 N.m (6.5 ~ 8.5 kgf.m, 47.0 ~ 61.5 lb-ft)

  11. Remove the under cover (A).

    Under cover installation bolt: 

    9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)

  12. Remove the following items;
    1. Front wheels. (Refer to REPAIR PROCEDURES .
    2. Sub frame assembly. (Refer to REMOVAL .
    3. Drive shaft assembly from the automatic transaxle system. (Refer to REMOVAL .
    4. Front muffler assembly. (Refer to MUFFLER .
  13. Remove the side cover (A).
  14. Remove the dust cover (A).
  15. Remove the torque converter mounting bolt (A) (6ea) with rotating the crankshaft.

    Tightening torque: 

    45.1 ~ 52.0 N.m (4.6 ~ 5.3 kgf.m, 33.3 ~ 38.3 lb-ft)

  16. Remove the bracket (A).

  17. Remove the start motor mounting bolt (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    49.0 ~ 63.7N.m (5.0~6.5Kgf.m, 36.2 ~47.0 lb-ft)

  18. Remove the automatic transaxle with a jack after removing the mounting bolt (A-4ea, B-1ea).

    Tightening torque: 

    1. (B) 39.2 ~ 46.1 N.m (4.0 ~ 4.7 kgf.m, 28.9~34.0lb-ft)
    2. (C) 78.5 ~98.1N.m (8.0~10.0 kgf.m, 57.9 ~72.3 lb-ft)
