Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Switch "OFF" the ignition and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  3. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector (A).

  4. Lift the vehicle.
  5. Remove the engine room under cover.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  6. Remove the transfer assembly [4WD].

    (Refer to 4 Wheel Drive (4WD) System - "FRONT WHEEL TRANSFER ASSEMBLY ")

  7. Loosening the bolt (B), and then remove the cover (A).

    Tightening torque:  9.8 - 11.7 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.6 lb-ft)

  8. Remove the installation bolt (B), and then remove the crankshaft position sensor (A).

    Tightening torque:  9.8 - 11.7 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.6 lb-ft)
